Workplace Emergency Response Information:
Life Time, Inc. provides individualized workplace emergency response information to team members whom require such information as a result of a disability.
If a team member who receives individualized workplace emergency response information requires assistance and with the team member’s consent, Life Time, Inc. shall provide the workplace emergency response information to the person designated by the company to provide assistance to the team member.
Any individualized workplace emergency response information will be reviewed when: (1) an team member moves to another location; (2) the team member’s overall accommodations needs or plans have changed; and (3) when the company reviews its general emergency response policies to ensure continued compliance.
Training:
Life Time, Inc. will provide training to team members, volunteers and other staff members on Ontario accessibility laws and on the Human Rights Code as it relates to people with disabilities. Training will be provided in a way that best suits the duties of the team member, volunteer or other staff member. The company will maintain records of the training provided.
Life Time, Inc. provides training in various formats, such as group seminar training or on-line training depending on its needs.
Communications:
Web Accessibility
Life Time, Inc. is committed to meeting the communication needs of people with disabilities.
Life Time, Inc. has reviewed its current website to ensure that updated information and web content (including websites undergoing significant refresh) are WCAG 2.0 Level AA compliant.
Exemptions include:
- Where meeting requirements not practicable;
- Web content published before January 1, 2012; and
- Websites and web content that Life Time, Inc. does not control directly or indirectly through contract.
Accessible Formats & Communication Supports
Life Time, Inc. is committed and will continue to take the following steps to ensure that all of Life Time, Inc.’s publicly available information is made accessible by request.

- All of Life Time, Inc.’s internet websites and web content conform with WCAG 2.0, Level AA, other than:
- Success criteria 1.2.4 Captions (Live); and
- Success criteria 1.2.5 Audio Descriptions (Pre-recorded).

Recruitment – Job Postings
Team members and the public will be notified about available policies and accommodation for job applicants with disabilities.
- Life Time, Inc. will provide suitable accommodation that takes into account the applicant’s accessibility needs due to disability.
- Job applicants who inform Life Time, Inc. will be advised that these accommodations are available, upon request, for the interview process and other candidate selection methods.
Recruitment and Selection
- During a recruitment process, Life Time, Inc. shall continue to notify job applicants, when they are individually selected to participate in an assessment or selection process that accommodations are available upon request in relation to the materials or processes to be used.
- If a selected applicant requests an accommodation, Life Time, Inc. shall consult with the applicant and provide or arrange for the provision of a suitable accommodation in a manner that takes into account the applicant’s accessibility needs due to disability.
Offers of Employment
Life Time, Inc. will, when making offers of employment, continue to notify the successful applicant of its policies for accommodating team members with disabilities.
Informing Team members of Supports
Life Time, Inc. will continue to inform its team members of its policies used to support its team members with disabilities, including, but not limited to, policies on the provision of job accommodations that take into account a team member’s accessibility needs due to disability.
Life Time, Inc. will continue to provide the information required under this section to new team members as soon as practicable after they begin their employment.
Life Time, Inc. will continue to provide updated information to its team members whenever there is a change to existing policies on the provision of job accommodations that take into account a team member’s accessibility needs due to disability.
Accessible Formats and Communication Supports for Team members
Where a team member with a disability so requests it, Life Time, Inc. shall continue to consult with the team member to provide or arrange for the provision of accessible formats and communication supports for: (a) information that is needed in order to inform the team member’s job; and (b) information that is generally available to team members in the workplace.
Life Time, Inc. will continue to consult with any team member making a request in determining the suitability of an accessible format or communication support.
Documented Individual Accommodation Plans
Life Time, Inc. will have in place a written process for the development of documented individual accommodation plans for team members with disabilities. The process will include the following elements:
- The manner in which a team member requesting accommodation can participate in the development of the individual accommodation plan.
- The means by which the team member is assessed on an individual basis.
- The manner in which Life Time, Inc. can request an evaluation by an outside medical or other expert, at its own expense, to assist in determining if accommodation can be achieved and, if so, how accommodation can be achieved.
- The steps taken to protect the privacy of the team member’s personal information.
- The frequency with which the individual accommodation plan will be reviewed and updated and the manner in which it will be done.
- If an individual accommodation plan is denied, the manner in which the reasons for the denial will be provided to the team member.
- The means of providing the individual accommodation plan in a format that takes into account the team member’s needs.
Where requested, a team member’s individual accommodation plan will include any information regarding the provision of accessible formats and communications supports. Where required, a team member’s individual accommodation plan will include individualized workplace emergency response information. A team member’s individual accommodation plan will include any additional accommodation that is to be provided.
Return to Work Process
Life Time, Inc. (a) will continue to develop and have in place a return to work process for its team members whom have been absent from work due to a disability and require disability-related accommodations in order to return to work; and (b) shall document the process.
The return to work process shall continue to outline the steps Life Time, Inc. will take to facilitate the return to work of team members whom were absent because their disability required them to be away from work; and will consider any documented individual accommodation plan that may exist.
The return to work process referenced in this section does not replace or override any other return to work process created by or under any other statute.
Performance Management
When using performance management with its team members, Life Time, Inc. will continue to take into account the accessibility needs of team members with disabilities, as well as individual accommodation plans.
Career Development and Advancement
When providing career development and advancement to its team members, Life Time, Inc. will continue to take into account the accessibility needs of its team members with disabilities as well as any individual accommodation plans.
Redeployment
When redeploying team members with disabilities, Life Time, Inc. will continue to take into account the accessibility needs of its team members with disabilities, as well as individual accommodation plans.
